Police baton charge protestors

SAPTARI: Police lathi-charged leaders and cadres of 11 different Saptari district-based political parties who had reached the District Development Committee (DDC) to padlock the office putting forth various demands.
Five agitators have been injured by the lathi-charge. The injured includes Saptari Chairman and Secretary of the Dalit Janajati Party Raj Kishor Khanga and Kusheshwor Saha, Uttam Acharya of Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekta Party, among others.
All the injured are undergoing treatment at Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, Rajbiraj.
Eleven different parties including Federal Sadbhawana Party, Nepal Janata Dal, CPN-ML, Dalit Janajati Party, among others, have been launching phase-wise agitation jointly putting forth various demands.
