KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanumandhoka, on Thursday appealed to an unidentified foreign tourist to come forward to help the police officials reach a logical conclusion of the Thamel shoot-out that left a monk injured.
Quoting an eyewitness, MPCD officials said that a tourist had taken multiple photographs when four unidentified robbers had shot at Nima Gyaljen Lama at point-blank range in a robbery bid and fled the scene. "I appeal to the unidentified foreign tourist to provide the photographs to the investigating officials of MPCD and held us identify the armed robbers, and track them down," said SSP Rana Bahadur Chand, in-charge, MPCD adding that they would protect the identity of the tourist.
Lama has received two bullets and is undergoing treatment in Bir Hospital. "The tourist can call us at 01-4253099 or email at ecrime@nepalpolice.gov.np for further information," he said.
