KATHMANDU: As the country prepares for Nepal Tourism Year 2011, Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) is holding NRN Day 2010 in tourist town Pokhara on October 11.
“Official opening of the NRN Day 2010 will start on October 11 in Pokhara,” said Dev Man Hirachan, president of NRNA and coordinator of the programme organising committee.
Though the main programme will be organised in Pokhara, other associated programmes will be organised in Kathmandu and Pokhara simultaneously, said Tenji Sherpa, sub-coordinator.
Top government officials, representatives of local bodies, journalists and other people will participate in the programme of NRNA spread throughout the world.
The first conference of the Nepali diaspora was held in Kathmandu in 2003 and formed the Non-Resident Nepali Association under the chairmanship of Dr Upendra Mahato, the Russia-based business tycoon.
