Pokhara tense over students death

POKHARA: Two students were killed when they were hit by a truck at New Road in Pokhara on Sunday morning. According to the police the deceased have been identified as Bikash Chatyal, 19, and Parbat Gurung, 17, of Birauta, Pokhara-17. Chatyal and Gurung were standard 11 students of Laxmi Adharsa Higher Secondary School. They died on the way to the hospital.
Following the death of the students, the locals obstructed vehicular movement. The police had to fire around eight rounds of tear gas to disperse the irate locals. Nawaraj Adhikari, the teacher of the Laxmi Adharsa Higher Secondary School, was severely beaten by the police and is presently undergoing treatment at Model Hospital, New Road, informed the school administration to THT Online.
