KATHMANDU: Activities of general public moving around for taking tika and blessings from their relatives have increased somewhat in the capital today on the second day after Dasami of the Dashain festival.
The traffic has increased as compared to past few days. There is a tradition to receive tika until the Kojagrat Purnima day on October 29.
People are seen walking with tika and jamara on their forehead and some say they find it pleasing to walk in less polluted streets free from the usual smoke and dust.
But taxis have been charging exorbitant fares taking benefit from the fewer public vehicles on the street. One passenger even said he paid Rs. 550 from New Baneswor to Samakhusi.
