KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Tuesday morning visited the flood affected areas of the Far and Mid- Western regions to take stock of the situation.
Nepali Congress acting president Sushil Koirala, Finance Minister Surendra Pandey, UML CPN central member Bhanu Bhakta Joshi and press advisor of PM Bishnu Rizal accompanied the PM in an army helicopter at 7.30am.
According to sources the PM is scheduled to visit Accham, Bajhang, Dadeldura, Kailali, Bardiya and Banke. During the visit he will also inquire about the condition of the affected people.
The office of the Prime Minister has informed that the government will finalise the relief package after the PM’s site visit to the affected area.
Meanwhile, speaking to journalists at Surkhet Airport the PM said that he is trying to make the Maoists responsible so that he is assured of their help in passing the budget.
Referring to the complaints about the appointment of Congress leader Sujata Koirala as Deputy Prime Minister he said that the complaints will not affect the stability of the government.
