BARA: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal today said that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai's lust for power and UCPN-Maoist's double standard were responsible for the country's deepening political crisis.
"Bhattarai's hunger for power has aggravated the already deteriorating political situation of the country,” Nepal told mediapersons at the Simara Airport.
In a different context, he accused Bhattarai of betraying the nation at the whims of foreign powers, and said that the incumbent Prime Minister was bereft of nationality and his party is hell-bent on capturing the state.
Noting that protracted political deadlock had given rise to impunity and corruption in the country, Nepal asked the PM to step down from the helm at the earliest to give a way out to the country from the political imbroglio.
