KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has stated on Tuesday that the incumbent Maoist-led government should step down to pave the way for a national consensus government.
The former Prime Minister Khanal who was spotted at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Tuesday morning to inquire about the condition of the injured in Janakpur bomb blast said that the government has become unsuccessful for its failure in maintaining law and order in the country.
“The present government has not been able to maintain security of its citizens. PM Dr Baburam Bhattarai should resign immediately,” said Khanal.
Four people were killed and 28 other sustained injuries when a bomb went off at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpurdham on Monday.
Khanal’s remarks came at a time when NC and UML are insisting that the Baburam Bhattarai-led government should step down to pave the way for a unity government to be led by NC as per the November 1 Seven Point Deal.
