KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the government has given high-priority to the cooperatives sector for economic, social and cultural transformation of the country.
In a message sent wishing for success of the national seminar organised on "Consolidation of Cooperatives Associations and promotion of business", the Prime Minister mentioned that the newly formed Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Ministry should carry out work taking the leadership to support for increasing products and to create opportunities of employment through overall development and promotion of the cooperatives sector.
In the message, he clarified that the government has forwarded cooperatives as a weapon for implementing the projects from agriculture to hydropower by giving high-priority to it.
The Prime Minister stressed that the cooperatives associations should primarily operate their activities in competitive way by developing entrepreneurship to increase income of the farmers, labourers, craftsmen and working people.
