KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has left for Iran, leading a 14-member entourage, to attend 16th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran.
The summit is scheduled to be held from August 30 until 31
The itinerary has it that PM will fly to Tehran via Doha, sources at Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar said.
During the visit, PM Dr Bhattarai will meet Iranian President Mahamoud Ahamadinezad and other heads of states and governments during his visit, said Chief Protocol Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nirajan Man Singh Basnet.
Dr Basnet informed that Nepali officials at the UN Mission were asked to adjust timetable for other bilateral meetings of PM Dr Bhattarai. Dr Bhattarai will return home on September 1.
Established in 1961, as many as 120 countries are gathering at Tehran to attend the summit this week.
