Dhulikhel: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai arrived in Kavre on Saturday, supposedly to defuse the pressure he has undergone in the last one week after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly. Prime Minister Bhattarai, along with wife Hisila and his security personnel, has checked into a resort in Dhulikhel. Bhattarai’s personal secretary Bishwodeep Pandey said the prime minister would not entertain any appointments during his stay here. Pandey refused to reveal the name of the resort the prime minister has checked into. “The prime minister will return to Kathmandu on Sunday,” said Pande.
Truck kills minor
DHADING: Eleven-year-old Buddhi Maya Chepang of Lothar, Chitwan died on Saturday morning after being hit by a truck heading to Kathmandu from Charaudi, Mugling. Irate locals halted vehicular movement in Charaudi demanding compensation to the victim's family and stern action against the driver. Police said the truck driver is at large.
Lighting claims two
DHADING: Two persons died and as many were injured after being hit by a lightning strike in Mahadevsthan VDC on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Santosh Lama (28) of Mahadevsthan-5, Rawadanda and Som Lama (16) of Khoredhunga, Bidur Municipality. Injured locals — Tika Maya Lamichhane (42) and Dhan Bahadur Tamang (56) — are undergoing treatment at Highway Community Hospital, Malekhu.
