KATHMANDU: Prime Minister on Saturday has extended condolence to the victims who lost their lives in the flash floods triggered by an unexpected avalanche in the Annapurna Mountain Range.
“We have already deployed a rescue team comprising local administration, police and army in rescue of the flood victims. To intensify the rescue operation, a helicopter has been sent to the incident site from the district headquarters and local security personnel have been kept alert to carry out an immediate rescue if need be,” Prime Minister said in a statement issued today.
Prime Minister has called on everyone to maintain restraint and support to the rescue team.
Sudden flash floods triggered by an avalanche in the Annapurna Mountain Range have wrecked havoc in the areas including Machhapuchhre and Sardi VDCs, killing at least 14 people, injuring scores and incurring loss of millions of rupees in Kaski district on Saturday.
