KATHMANDU: Prime Minister has officially apologised for the failure of the political parties to promulgate the timely statute and requested earnestly to make the fresh CA polls successful.

“I beg apology from the Nepali people for the failure to promulgate the new constitution through the CA,” admitted PM Bhattarai addressing the special function orgainsed in Tundikhel to mark the 5th Republic Day on Monday.

Only on Sunday midnight, Prime Minster Bhattarai had announced to hold fresh elections on November 22 after the CA’s four-year term expired automatically following its failure to issue the new statute.

For PM Bhattarai, the CA failed to frame a new constitution because the old forces and the status quoists did not support a forward-looking constitution.

On the occasion, Dr Bhattarai also urged all to maintain peace, social harmony at this juncture in order to strengthen the feeling of national unity.
