PACT begins training for sub-project managers

Similar training programmes will be conducted in other parts of the nation very soon.

KATHMANDU: The Project for Agriculture and Commercialisation of Trade (PACT) under the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD) is training its sub-project managers of Kathmandu district.

Managers of 41 sub-projects are receiving the training organised by the Central Development Regional Project Implementation Support Team (PrIST).

Addressing the training participants, PACT Director Yogendra Kumar Karki said the project awards grants to farmers’ groups with an aim to lift Nepal’s agriculture to a commercial level.

During the training, experts are delivering classes on roles and responsibilities of managers, importance of transparency, payment systems, environmental and social safeguard and related issues.

PACT said it will train managers from Lalitpur, Kavre and Dhading districts of the Central Development Region tomorrow.

Similar training programmes will be conducted in other parts of the nation very soon, according to PACT.

PACT is a World Bank (WB)-funded project run by the MoAD since 2009.
