KATHMANDU: An operator of Radio Bindas FM station (94.8 MHz) in Birgunj has been found murdered in neighbouring district of India on Saturday.
The body of Santosh Kumar Gupta (31), managing director of the recently launched FM station, was discovered this morning with gunshot wounds in his neck, at Dhaka Chiraiya of Purvi Champaran of Bihar, according to the Raxaul police. They said Gupta would have been killed last night.
Though he hailed from Raxaul, India, it is believed that Gupta had acquired Nepali citizenship.
The motive behind his killing is not clear yet. However, the Indian police suspected that Gupta was involved in the smuggling of fake Indian currency and might have been gunned down in a gang war.
The body has been taken to a hospital in Motihari for autopsy.
