On fed‚ NC leaders knock Prachanda's door

KATHMANDU: Top leaders of Nepali Congress(NC) and the UCPN-Maoist have resumed talks today also over the basis and numbers of federal states during the process of state reconstructing.
In the meeting which is underway at Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Lazimpat, leaders of the both parties are expected to come up with an agreement upon map of the 11 states.
They, along with the CPN-UML and the UDMF, inched closer to an understanding to federate the country into 11 multiple identity-based provinces after NC and UCPN-Maoist showed flexibility on Friday in number of federal states and basis of federating nation, respectively.
The fresh hopes have emerged after NC displayed its readiness to go for 11 states from their earlier position of seven provinces and Maoists took the idea of multiple identity-based states, positive.
