BUTWAL: Lawmaker and leader of CPN (Unified) Pari Thapa has said that political parties should not make the PLA combatants as the subject to bargain for political benefits.
Speaking at a news conference in Butwal on Friday morning, he said the PLA combatants have spent their crucial time of their life in the decade-long conflict and they should be given chances to select options for integration or rehabilitation as per their interests.
He said statute drafting is not possible until the peace process was taken to its logical conclusion and both the issues should be taken side by side.
The political parties have agreed in contentious issues except the issues of the state restructuring, forms of governance and judiciary adding that promulgation of the new constitution is possible within some months if the parties were serious.
