KATHMANDU: The First General Convention of the Newah Janadhikar Parishad Party has constituted a 33-member central committee of the party under the chairmanship of Narendra Shrestha.
Madan Ram Karmacharya, Yachu Joshi, Ram Tamrakar, Narayan Chitrakar and Manju Bajracharya have been elected the five vice-presidents of the party. Similarly, Binod Ranjitkar has been unanimously elected the general secretary, Hari Tandukar the secretary and Parbati Bajracharya the treasurer.
The General Convention also constituted 13 different departments looking after the information and communications, youth, women, trade and business, intellectual, culture and literature, finance, organisation, health, sports, students and teachers sectors.
Party president Shrestha said they have constituted the party considering the dire need of an ethnic political party for the protection of the ethnic and cultural rights of the Newar community.
