POKHARA: The departmental side Nepal Army Club (NAC) nailed NIBL Friends Club 3-0 in an all-top tier clash of the 11th Aaha -Rara Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament at the Pokhara Stadium, in Pokhara, on Wednesday.
In the 30th minute, utilising a corner kick from Tanka Basnet, Ram Kumar Biswas simply headed the ball into the opponent’s goal post to open the goal account for the departmental side. Subsequently, Army extended the lead in the 69th minute through a penalty. In the dying minutes, Deep Lama added one more to finish the match on a high note for the well-built army team.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) had defeated Dharan FC 4-2 in a tiebreaker to confirm quarter-finals berth.
