BHADRAPUR: The Fifth Republic Day has been marked by organising various programmes in different districts across the country.
Our correspondents said that a large number of locals, government officials, civil society leaders and dignified personalities of the society have actively participated at the programmes organised to mark the Republic Day.
A morning rally was organised at Chandragadhi of Jhapa district this morning. Officials, students, scouts, police personnel and others were present in the rally that was taken out from Lekhnath Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers expressed their dissatisfaction for Constituent Assembly's failure to draft the constitution during its four-year term.
Coordinator of the District Celebration Committee and Local Development Officer Jiban Prakash Sitaula, Chief District Officer Narendra Raj Sharma and local leaders of political parties also expressed their opinions on the occasion.
On the same occasion, 16 inmates including one woman were released by the government from Jhapa jail.
They had completed more than 50 percent of jail term, said Jail Chief Khagendra Giri. The oldest released was Bir Narayan Majhi, 71.
Similarly, Fifth Republic Day Main Organizing Committee, Kaski, organised different programmes.
A deliberation programme was organised this morning in Pokhara while sanitation, morning rally, blood donation and others were also conducted.
