KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman (VP) and two other members of the National Planning Commission (NPC) have tendered their resignation to Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Friday.
Organising a press conference in Singha Durbar today, VP Dinesh Chandra Devkota and Dr Prem Kunwar and Prem Kumar Sharma said that they resigned to help the new government in the changed political situation.
Devkota was appointed by the Jhalanath Khanal-led government in May while he was serving as a member in the NPC from the last three years in the CPN-UML quota.
Kunwar and Sharma have served for 31 months each as members in the NPC.
