Lekhi has claimed that he has due reverence to media sector

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NeFIN) Raj Kumar Lekhi claimed that conspiracies were hatched to defame the protest of NeFIN by enticing for attacks on media sector, adding that the present shutdown was purely organised to ensure federalism with identity and people's rights.

Lekhi has claimed that he has due reverence to media sector, adding that he respects media sector's right to reporting without any hindrances.

Issuing a press statement today, Lekhi has also urged the agitators and media persons to observe restraint.

He has claimed that incidents of vandalism were occurring in the presence of police personnel and that they were themselves provoking for such unruly activities.

I totally agree with Mr. Amit’s saying. The so called Nepalese media and the reporters are not giving stories of both sides. Instead, to make the matter worst, they are even twisting the stories and defaming the Janajatis. Never mind, many international watchdog organisations and media are keeping a close watch on this matter. If not today, it will definitely come out tomorrow. You better be prepared, Nepalese media! Good Lekhi jee, then it seems you have hired police as a vigilance. FATAHA Sudarshan, KTM

it is not right to attack media...but media in nepal is also reporting with bias...when bahun chetri samaj called bandh last week almost none of the major daily papers reported how much people suffered or how much economic loss country had as most of the papers are controlled by media barons from bahun cheri samaj..and none of the media condemned the bandh called by bahun chetri samaj..media should respect the voices of other communities and report without bias then media will be respected by all..... amit, india
