KATHMANDU: Nepal Dalit Party has suggested naming the existing five development regions as federal states.
At a press meet organised by the party here today, the party informed the media persons that the federal units will be more inclusive if the existing five development regions were to be made into five provinces on the basis of identity and capability.
On the occasion, party Chairman Megh Bahadur BK said that the new constitution should be Dalit friendly.
The party has put forth different demands including providing one house and one employment for the Dalits, free education to their children, and free health services, among others, to make the new constitution a Dalit friendly constitution.
Similarly, Vice-Chairman of the party, Amrit Sunar warned of launching phase-wise agitation if their demands were not included in the new constitution.
