NC unsatisfied with PM: Poudel

THT Online

NARAYANGADH: Nepali Congress parliamentary leader and vice president Ram Chandra Poudel said on Thursday that the behaviour of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has not been satisfactory for the NC.

Speaking at Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan to participate in the 13th day condolence ceremony of late democratic freedom fighter Chij Kumar Shrestha, Poudel said that though the behaviour of the CPN-UML has been somewhat good, the PM's actions have not been satisfactory. The NC leaders have been opposing the promotion of Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala to Deputy Prime Minister. But he opined that there is no time to seek an alternative to the incumbent government.

Criticising the activities of the main opposition party UCPN-Maoist, Poudel said that the Maoists are creating obstacles in the country. He added that whereas the opposition has to help the government in a constructive manner, the Maoists have pushed the country into anarchy.

Speaking at the same venue, NC acting president Sushil Koirala said that consensus can be achieved without dragging the presidential issue into the controversy.
