DAMAULI: Nepali Congress Regional Committee, Tanahun, today recommended action against 15 leaders and cadres, including former vice-general
secretary Govinda Raj Joshi, accusing them of betraying the party in the second Constitution Assembly election, in Damauli.
The Regional Committee Area No 2 of NC has recommended action to the district working committee against the party’s former central member Amarraj Kaini, former CA member Urmila Thapa, former district president Raghu Nath Paudel, former district development committee vice-president Bal Bahadur Ale, former district vice-president Dhruba Lal Pradhan, general assembly representative Parsuram Giri and Satischandra Neupane.
Likewise, the committee has also recommended faction against regional representatives Bharat Krishna Shrestha, Min Bahadur Karki, Shankarraj Gaire, Ramdev Pantha, Hari Sigdel, Tilak Bahadur Thapa and Shreekrishna Pantha, said the NC regional committee.
“The responsible leaders and cadres played a role in defeating the party in the district and have supported CPN-UML and Independent candidates in the second CA election openly,” said regional secretary Mohan Giri. The NC had won the CA election from Constituencies No 1 and 2, while the party was defeated in Constituency No 3.
