NC raps UCPN-M for Khotang assault‚ arson

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress on Saturday has condemned the assault on its cadres and arson attack allegedly by UCPN-M aligned cadres, on the Khotang-based house of Bijaya Gurung, vice-president of Nepal Tarundal Khotang chapter.
Issuing a press release today, the NC has slammed the attack and has demanded that the government bring the criminals to book without delay, wishing the victims a quick recovery.
The UCPN-M aligned cadres had attacked Nepal Students Union district joint-secretary Bhimsen Gurung and Village Committee member Suman Gurung with a sharp khukuri on June 29.
Victim duo had sustained deep cuts on their hands in the attack when they were going to take stock of the damage on the house by the arson.
The injured had been airlifted on the same day and are undergoing treatment at TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
