BHADRAPUR: President of the Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala has said that there is a need of a national consensus government for resolving the problems of the country. He made this remark at a brief meeting with journalists at Bhadrapur Airport, today.
Stating that there is no alternative except for consensus for resolving the problems of the country, Koirala blamed that the UCPN-Maoist has increased crisis of confidence and alleged that the UCPN-Maoist has not implemented past agreements in practice.
The NC President said that the UCPN-Maoist has not implemented the 12-point agreement to the latest five-point agreement, and has not returned the land captured earlier.
Responding to query of journalists, he expressed the view that it could not be said that the President is being active after returning the ordinances as the President is the protector of the constitution.
Koirala made it clear that the NC would launch peaceful agitation for the formation of a national consensus government.
