Police arrested Sahabudhdin on the charge of forcefully closing a drug house

PARSA: At least six Nepali Congress (NC) cadres were injured when the police lathi-charged to disperse the demonstrators on Saturday night.

The NC cadres demonstrated outside the District Police Office, Parsa, demanding release of Muhammad Shahabudhdin, chief of the NC Birgunj Municipality Committee.

Police arrested Sahabudhdin on the charge of forcefully closing a drug house at the premises of the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital, said Rabindra KC, Deputy Superintendent of Police.

However, the NC Parsa district secretary, Ashok Jaisawal, claimed that police misbehaved and used unnecessary force while they were staging peaceful sit-in in front of the police office.

Parsa District Committee of the NC condemned the police action and demanded legal action against the guilty policemen.
