DIPAYAL: Youth leader and Nepali Congress lawmaker Gagan Thapa said that formation of the State Restructuring Committee was a mistake.
However, he said that there was no need for concern about the SRC report since it is not legally binding with the Constituent Assembly and merely recognised as a suggestion.
Thapa’s statement came at a time when people of different regions including Chitwan, Far-western and Karnali region have been expressing their serious exception to the recommendation on the formation of federal states.
Speaking at an interaction programme with the media here today, Thapa also vowed to stand for the united Far-Western Region.
“Nobody can disintegrate the region since people of this region have a strong voice for a united Far-Western Region and against the disintegration,” Thapa remarked.
He also blamed the partisan representation as the main cause behind the failure of SRC.
On the occasion, he also criticised the government for promoting corruption in the country. He argued that there is intense competition going on among the ministers of the incumbent government for corruption.
