KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has condemned Thursday’s killing of Supreme Court Judge Rana Bahadur Bam in Shankhamul and sought action against the killers on the basis of a thorough probe. The party has condoled Bam’s death and wished for speedy recovery of Mahesh and Ram Giri, who were injured in the shooting.

KATHMANDU: The first ever Bangladeshi woman to scale Mount Everest, Nishath Majumder, and her companion MA Muhith arrived in Kathmandu from Lukla on Thursday. Bangladesh Embassy officials received them at the airport.

Govt office padlocked

KATHMANDU: Five trade unions at the Health Ministry padlocked the office of the Department of Health Services (DoHS) on Thursday protesting what it called ‘illegal and urban-centric’ placement of 187 health workers. They have urged the department to scrape the decision and protect professionalism at work.
