KATHMANDU: A meeting between Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ended today after Koirala rejected Dahal’s proposal to resurrect the dissolved Constituent Assembly(CA).
Koirala-- who had reached to Dahal residence in Lazimpat the day after UCPN-Maoist Chairman blamed NC for the present political deadlock by failing to name its prime ministerial candidate-- however said that NC will mull over the alternatives after the formation of a national consensus government.
It has been understood that NC President also expressed his objection against the remarks made by Dahal though it is no more a secret that internal rift is afflicting NC as President Sushil Koirala, and senior leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ramchandra Paudel, are eying the post of prime minister.
As CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal is taking bed rest after the laser surgery for his kidney stone, the meeting between top leaders of major three parties is affected for past few days.
