KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress and CPN-UML on Sunday decided to protest if the caretaker government introduced the budget for the new fiscal year through an ordinance.
Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal held an hour-long meeting at the latter’s residence in Dallu today and concluded that the caretaker prime minister should pave the way for a national consensus and should not bring the budget without it.
Talking to the media after the meeting, the leaders said that they discussed the political situation of the country.
“We discussed contemporary issues. We discussed that the full budget should be brought through consensus,” he said, “The government should act responsibly at the time the country is in a crisis.”
It has been learnt that the two leaders held discussion on how to carry out the agitation against the government.
