KATHMANDU: Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of science and technology in Nepal.
NAST vice chancellor Dr. Surendra Raj Kafle and NRN chairman Dev Man Hirachan signed the agreement amid a function today.
According to the agreement, the NRN in coordination with the NAST would conduct research activities for the development of science and technology in Nepal, an NRNA statement said.
Speaking at the programme, NAST vice chancellor Kafle expressed his hope that the agreement would become operational within three years.
On the occasion, Dr Raju Adhikary, head of the Skill, Knowledge and Innovation (SKI) taskforce, NRN, presented a paper on the technicalities of the programme.
A steering taskforce was appointed as suggested by Adhikari to facilitate the implementation of the programme.
Also present in the function were several Nepali scientists, representatives from the different bodies of the NRN and media persons.
