BIRGUNJ: Birgunj-based Mina Bazaar is to be developed as a modern systematized town after various shops including vegetables, fruits and meat located in Mina Bazaar were shifted to the proposed land of BP Park at Ghantaghar.

The Birgunj Sub-Metropolis had started initiatives from one-and-a-half years ago to develop the Bazaar situated in the heart of Birgunj as a systematized bazaar.

The plan was not implemented due to protest of the business persons as they did not agree to shift their shops in another place.

City dwellers had piled pressures on the Sub- Metropolis to develop the stinky and disorganized Mina Bazaar as a systematized Bazaar since long time.

The Sub-Metropolis has forwarded a plan to construct the Bazaar in orderly manner as per the desire and needs of the city dwellers, said an official at the Sub-Metropolis, Prakash Man Amatya.

The Mina Bazaar will be made a wellmanaged bazaar within one year if there is no obstruction.

Three contract companies - Swachchhanda, Ram Janaki and Roshan-- jointly accepted the contract on Rs. 27.6 million for it.

A two storey shopping complex is going to be constructed in the seven katthas of land of the Bazzar, informed the Sub-Metropolis.

The Sub-Metropolis added that there is a target to complete the construction works within one year which was started with the purpose of developing the Bazaar equiped with modern facilities by developing the basic infrastructure.
