LONDON: Terrified Nicole Scherzinger was held at gunpoint by masked bandits while filming her latest pop video, it was revealed last night, reported British daily The Sun on Friday.
The 33-year-old X Factor judge's car was surrounded by a dozen balaclava-clad men armed with machine guns in the drug-ridden mountains of Mexico.
The gang — who had more accomplices hiding in bushes — ripped apart the bullet-proof 4x4 she had been travelling in with X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman.
Nicole — heading to film the video for her single Try With Me — was finally saved when local police arrived.
A pal revealed: "Nicole and everyone in the car were terrified. There was lots of screaming and shouting.
"They thought their time might be up.
"There were around a dozen men with their faces covered, pointing guns at the three cars in her fleet.
"A load more men were in the bushes at the side of the road pointing guns, too. The group knew the dangers, which is why they had a bullet-proof car and security. But no one expected that."
Ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole — who was due to sing on the US X Factor last night — was driving to shoot her video in the Xilitla rainforest when the gang struck.
Brian, 34, said: "We were held at gunpoint — people next to our cars. There were M16s and Berettas."
He joked: "Nicole cursed me with this trip. It was the craziest adventure ever."
