KATHMANDU: The Fourth Republic Day-2011 was marked by organising various programmes across the country on Sunday.
The Republic Day Celebration Main Committee, Kaski, organised a sanitation programme at local Dam Side Chowk.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, officials of government offices, representatives of the NGOs and locals were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Local Development Officer Guru Prasad Subedi said the time has come to do for the cause of people instead of delivering speeches.
Similarly, sanitation programme, fruit distribution to patients in the hospital, district-level athletics competition and other activities were held in Kalaiya of Bara district.
Likewise, the Republic Day Celebration Main Committee, Rukum, organised an interaction programme in the district.
District Judge Arjun Bahadur Adhikari, addressing the programme, said all should exert pressure from their respective fields for drafting constitution though it was not drafted in the stipulated timeframe.
Similarly, a friendly football match was held between politicians and government employees in the district headquarters, Khalanga.
Likewise, the Republic Day Celebration Main Committee, Makawanpur, honored injured of the People’s Movement Gokarna Tiwari, mother of martyr Basu Dev Ghimire, Shova Ghimire, and widow of martyr Rudra Pakhrin, Parbati will Rs. 3,000 each.
