KATHMANDU: The Special Committee (SC) on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants, on Wednesday held its meeting at the Prime Minister’s office in Singha Durbar.
The meeting decided to present the drafts of the code of conduct and mechanism to bring the Maoist combatants under the command and control of the Special Committee, to the top leaders of the major political parties, Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’, a member of SC and a UCPN-Maoist leader, said.
The drafts were submitted by the technical committee nearly one-and-a-half months ago. As Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal vowed to hold meetings of the SC every Sunday, all members of the committee were present in today’s meeting which was chaired by PM Nepal.
SC member and Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Saran Mahat said, “The SC will pass the drafts after getting approval from the senior leaders of the major parties.”
The next meeting will take place next Sunday.
