KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has visited dissident leader Mohan Baidhya on Tuesday afternoon in a bid to woo the latter and prevent a potential split of the party.
The two leaders are currently holding talks at Baidhya’s residence in Gongabu.
The Baidhya faction has been accusing the party establishment, Dahal and Vice Chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai of deviating from the communist ideology.
The faction has called a national gathering of the party cadres loyal to it at Kathmandu on June 15. The gathering is expected to make a decision regarding the announcement of the new party.
