KATHMANDU: A gang of three abducted Rakesh Lama (27) of Makwanpur from his rented room in Battisputali, police said on Wednesday. The gang, riding on a scooter had taken Lama away with them from his room at around 4:00 pm on Tuesday, the alleged victim’s landlord Binod Raj Pandey told police. According to police, an investigation has been launched to find Lama’s whereabouts and the motive behind the abduction.

Drugged and robbed

KATHMANDU: An unidentified gang lured Ramadevi Baral (62) into drinking spiked cold drink to render her unconscious and robbed her of a gold ornament weighing half tola in Gaurighat on Tuesday evening. Police had taken Baral to Bir Hospital after finding her lying unconscious on the roadside. The incident came to light only after the victim regained consciousness. The culprits are at large. Police said a probe is under way.

Man drowns

KATHMANDU: A man identified as Deepak Thapa (35) of Gongabu was found dead in an underground water reservoir of a house under construction in Garigaun, Gongabu on Wednesday. His body was found floating in the reservoir at 10:30 am. He was reportedly found to have been drunk on Tuesday night, police quoted an eyewitness as saying. Thapa was a heavy drinker, according to police.
