KANCHANPUR: The Kanchanpur District chapter of the Maiti Nepal, a social organization working in the sector of women at risk, has reintegrated 114 women in their families over the last one year.
Maiti Nepal rescued these women at the border check post at Gaddachauki here while they were being trafficked to different countries, it is said.
Rita Bhattarai, coordinator of Maiti Nepal's Kanchanpur district chapter, said incidents of women trafficking taking place through the border transit point in the far-west of the country has decreased to some extent compared to the past years.
Bhattarai said Maiti Nepal Kanchanpur has found 20 out of the 112 women said to be missing whose families had applied to Maiti Nepal Kanchanpur for finding them.
It also received 63 complaints of domestic violence in the last one year.
