CHITWAN: General Secretary of CPN ML, CP Mainaly, Saturday accused the UCPN-Maoist of being responsible for the present political standstill as it has an ulterior motive of seizing the state power.
Mainaly who is in Chitwan to attend a programme, speaking with reporters in Chitwan even challenged the opposition party to garner a majority in the parliament to form a government under their leadership. He suggested that the Maoists hold talks to seek a way out for their demands. Minister for Land Reform and Management, Dambar Shrestha, who is also in Chitwan to attend the same programme said that the ultimatum forwarded by UCPN-Maoist to address their demands by November 20 was not appropriate and the government was not in a position to address them. It would be better for the Maoists to hold talks rather than protests, added Shrestha.
