DANG: Standing Committee member of the UCPN-Maoist, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has said that there was need of a national consensus government only after the drafting of a new constitution.
Mahara made this remark at a press meet organised by Revolutionary Journalists' Association in Ghorahi today.
He said that discussions were underway among the parties to forge a consensus on the remaining issues of the constitution writing at first and then the formation of a national consensus government.
On the occasion, Maoist leader Mahara said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be reinstated and added that there was risk that the country could be pushed into conflict if the CA was not reinstated.
He said that the party would continue efforts to keep unity with the Baidhya faction though they had spilt from the party.

Maoists should also learn to put conditions to the opposition like they have been doing so far.Let the opposition also think about the solutions to ongoing problems. gaunle, xxx

Indeed, Bhattrai should persevere until the new CA is elected in 120 days. The NC has already said that it will boycott elections and hopefully the CPN-UML will as well. This means that only honest and good stewards of Nepal will be elected without the crooked corrupted ones of the old-guard having anything to say. When the new CA is elected, if they ask Bhattrai to resign, he should then bow out gracefully with the thanks of the poor, landless Nepali people who will benefit from the writing of a federalist constitution with equal rights for all.
