KATHMANDU: A mercurial match that awakened the hopes of Machhindra Club to pick up their pace in the title run was awarded by a late goal to register a 2-1 win over Rani Pokhari Corner Team of the match in Martyrs Memorial Red Bull ‘A’ Division Super League at Dasharath Stadium.
In the early kick off of the day on Wednesday , Machhindra Club’s dominance in the match prevailed and it was well backed up by their players. Machhindra Club took an early lead in the match with a superb header off Deepak Rai in the 29th minute,.
However, it was turned down by a tricky header off RCT’s Dangol who was right on the money to utilize Bijay Gurung’s cross to level his team’s score in the 76th minute.
However, Bishal Rai A found the back of the net in the 88th minute to register a well deserved victory for his club.
With this win, Machhindra Club leapfrogged to the second position, but they are eight points below the league leaders Three Star Club who have 38 points.
Machhindra Club would cross their fingers till the results of the following match. If Manang Marshyangdi Club triumphs over Tribhuwan Army Club, they will be pushed down to the third spot in super league standings.
In the super league standings Rani Pokhari Corner Team are in the pit bottom with 26 points.
The second match of the day is being played between Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) and Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC) at Dasharath Stadium.
