SANKHUWASABHA: Three kids died in a landslide at Jyamire Dhupu VDC-8 in Sankhuwasabha, while five others are still missing in yet another landslip tragedy at Barabesay of the district.

They went missing when the house of one Chakra Bahadur Rai was buried in the landslide.

Rai’s spouse Dilmaya, 52, daughters Yuna, 12, Usha 22, son Dil Kumar, 1.5, and a guest Krishna Ghimire, 45, are missing in the calamity.

Fifteen homes have been swept off by constant landslips at Barabesay and three abodes at Dhupu due to the flood in Bhoti River in Sankhuwasabha since 10 pm on Monday.

Rescue operation for missing is still not in the full-swing as it takes about a day's walk to reach to the landslide-affected remote VDCs in the district.

Only yesterday, at least six people were killed and eight others went missing when a landslide swept vehicles carrying passengers off a mountain road at Kolbung, Chindepani in Ilam.
