KATHMANDU: No matter what your grandparents will always be special and one should never forget that. They will pamper you and when needed scold you for the right reason. And to recognise this role, students of Kendriya Vidyalaya EOI celebrated Grandparents’ Day on October 10 as per press release issued by Kendriya Vidyalaya on the same date. Prof Smt Anju Sharan Upadhyay, India chair at Tribhuvan University presided over the programme as the Chief Guest. She applauded the role of grandparents in one’s life and thanked them for their selfless dedication and love.
According to the press release Principal Dr Cicy Roy Mathew said that the aim of organising the Grandparents Day was to give them their due place in society and to show them that they care for them. “We want to make students understand how important it is to love and respect their grandparents,” she stated in the
release.
The children put up lively performances. Tiny tots in colourful attires danced to various tunes. Drama unfolded the little ones’ love for their grandparents. Melodious songs were a feast to ears. A variety of Art and Craft exhibits displayed proved the hidden talent of the children at such a tender age. Attractive games were organised for the grandparents. An overjoyed grandparent in the release said, “It is a nice feeling to see the school inculcate such values in the children from Class I itself.” Others too lauded the school’s effort.
