Journalism award winners announced

BHADRAPUR: Journalist Bhim Nembang has been declared the winner of the SL Sharma Creative Journalism Award and Nilu Shrestha of the Prvati Journalism Consolation Award for this year.
Nilu is the spouse of journalist Amrit Lal Shrestha, RSS' Mechi zone correspondent. A meeting of the award selection committee on Saturday announced the names of the winners.
The SL Sharma Creative Journalism Award carries a purse of Rs 11,000 and a copper plaque while the Consolation Award carries Rs 5,000 and a Letter of Appreciation. The awards are instituted to the memory of SL Sharma, a press freedom fighter, and his wife Parvati.
The awards would be given away on March 29, 2013 on the occasion of the founding day of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ).
