Journalism award in memory of scribe Poudel

BHADRAPUR: The 'Yadav Poudel Investigative Journalism Award' has been instituted in the memory of journalist Yadav Poudel.
Mechi Times Daily – the newspaper where journalist Podel was professionally associated – has instituted the annual award comprising cash prize of Rs. 21,000.
Jal Kumar Gurung, Chairperson of Machhapuchchhre Publication Group which has been publishing the Mechi Times, announced the award at a tribute-paying ceremony organized on the 13th day of the death of journalist Yadav.
The award will be endowed to a Jhapa-based journalist active in investigative journalism on the occasion of the founding day of Federation of Nepali Jouranlists (FNJ) on Chaitra 16 every year, said Tirtha Sigdel, Editor of the Mechi Times Daily.
Executive Editor of the Daily, Poudel was murdered on April 3 by allegedly pushing off from a hotel terrace in Birtamod, Jhapa.
