KATHMANDU: MAW Enterprises JCB Division –– sole authorised distributor of JCB construction and heavy equipment in the country –– organised ‘Pokhara Customer Meet 2012’ recently for their valued customers and prospects associated with
construction work. The meet had strong presence of JCB customers and prospects from districts of Gandaki zone including Tanahun, Kaski, Gorkha, Baglung, Lamjung, Pokhara. MAW Enterprises JCB Division organised the customer meet programme to bring together all the people related to the construction field
to make them aware and educate them about the use of modern JCB machines. Use of JCB machines not only fulfills manpower requirement but also gives more productivity and saves time, it said in a press note.
Asian Life’s CSR
KATHMANDU: Asian Life Insurance under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) has helped 86 elderly people residing in Aama ko Ghar –– a shelter for elderly women –– established by Dil Shova Shrestha at her own home in Soaltee Mode, Rabi Bhawan. The life insurance company on the occasion of Father’s Day on Friday sponsored Rs 15,001 for their lunch and dinner. Asian Life has been providing life insurance services through a network of 20 branches across the country.
NBTI holds workshop
KATHMANDU: National Banking Training Institute (NBTI) in association with HR Club Nepal organised a two-day HR Workshop on August 17-18 at Gokarna Forest Resort. The HR workshop was attended by HR professionals from the banking sector, it said in a press note, adding that the workshop discussed issues and challenges prevailing in the banking sector. The topics included the role of HR by line managers, performance management system, role of HR in mergers, occupational safety and health/work-life balance in banking and establishing a common salary survey format.
Indonesia flag hoisted
KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the flag hoisting ceremony took place at the Office of the Honorary Consul of Indonesia at IME Complex premises. Honorary Consul of Indonesia to Nepal Chandra Prasad Dhakal hoisted Indonesian national flag to commemorate the 67th anniversary. The ceremony was conducted in presence of the Indonesian community residing in Nepal along with staff of Consul’s Office and IME. Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Nepal were established in 1960, and since December 2007, the Indonesian embassy in Dhaka is accredited to Nepal.
