Integration uncertain as rebels refuse NA standards

KATHMANDU: Uncertainly has loomed large over the integration process after the ex-combatants loyal to the newly formed CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidhya have refused to undergo the recruitment standards set by the Nepali Army.
Doubts over the integration process have mounted as the combatants loyal to the newly formed CPN-Maoist refused to follow the set recruitment standards of the Nepali Army, said our reporter Surya Prakash Kandel.
Maoist combatant Saroj Titung of Nuwakot loyal to the Baidhya-led CPN-Maoist said, “We will not go for integration if we have to follow the recruitment standards set by the Nepali Army.”
However, Spokesman of the Nepali Army Brig Gen Ramindra Chhetri said the integration process has already started.
Two major generals duo Baldev Raj Mahat and Surendra Bahadur Karki have already reached the main cantonment site in Jutpani of Chitwan to carry out the process.
The integration process was supposed to kick off today at all cantonment sites for 3,123 ex-fighters wanting to join in the national force.
Earlier, Balananda Sharma, Coordinator of the Secretariat under the Special Committee, had said many of the remaining fighters have wished to take voluntary retirement.

PLA fighters are undergoing 'ELIMINATION PROCess". At the end the day, they will have nothing to talk about except that they will only be able to boast of their being in the selection process till the end. what an achievement!! gaunle, xxx
