"But it doesn't mean that we would obstruct the process of consensus."

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said that his party shall also claim for the next premiership if parties decide to go for a fresh poll to elect the new Constitution Assembly(CA).

“The May 3-five point deal which says that a national consensus government should be formed under the NC’s leadership is no longer binding at this state of affair, “ said the former PM Khanal while speaking to a Kathmandu-based radio station on Sunday morning.

“A national consensus government is inevitable prior going for fresh polls and why should UML stay behind in claiming for the government leadership,” stated Khanal

“ But it doesn’t mean that we would obstruct the process of consensus,” UML chief clarified.

Saying that parties have returned to talks table and would soon strike a package deal, Khanal said political stakeholders should not delay to go for fresh polls if unable to agree on the thorny issues of the new constitution.

Khanal also elucidated that seven multi-ethnic federal pradeshes as forwarded by his party is only is a proposal.

“We can still discuss on a draft proposal of seven multi-ethnic federal pradeshes,” said Khanal
